Leeds will give Kalvin Phillips the opportunity to return, but the Whites won’t match Man City’s demand.

Kalvin Phillips is eager to return to Leeds United at Elland Road should they win promotion to the Premier League.

After this season, Phillips—who is now on loan at West Ham United—will return to Manchester City. The English midfielder is probably going to be sold permanently during the next summer transfer window because he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular starter under Pep Guardiola. It is anticipated that the Cityzens will ask for a move of about £30 million (€35 million).

The Whites are currently one point from of an automatic promotion position in third place in the Championship table. According to the Daily Mail, they are unwilling to pay City’s asking price, thus they will be attempting to bring back their star midfield player on an initial loan contract.

Phillips switched during the January transfer window, but he hasn’t been able to settle into London life. With The Hammers, he has had trouble establishing himself, and most recently, he became involved in a scandal after giving his own fans the finger in response to harsh criticism.

The 28-year-old’s next game could be on Thursday when David Moyes’ team plays the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal matchup against Bayer Leverkusen, the recent German champions.
