Kyogo’s Promise to Celtic Supporters on Sunday Morning

On Saturday afternoon, Celtic defeated St Mirren 3-0 at Parkhead, securing their place atop the Scottish Premiership standings. Following their victory, the Hoops go up to four points ahead of their nearest opponents, the Rangers, who play Ross County in Dingwall on Sunday

Celtic dominated the second half of the game, with three different individuals scoring goals. Kyogo Furuhashi scored one of the goals, a rare header from Alistair Johnston’s well-placed cross in the 60th minute.

Kyogo shared the following on Twitter early on Sunday morning:

“I will continue to work hard to play more powerfully from now on! I won’t lose to myself.”

The match got underway more slowly, with Celtic finding it difficult to penetrate a strong St Mirren defense. But as Celtic stepped up their intensity in the second half, the equation suddenly changed. Alistair Johnston became a vital member of the team, dishing out two assists that helped break the visitors’ defense.

Even though Rangers still have two games remaining, Celtic has to win to stay ahead in a closely contested championship race. There are just a few games left, therefore every one matters.
