Philippe Clement attacks Dundee’s “solution” to postpone by a week in addition to criticizing the “crazy” Rangers waiting game.

Rangers’ current predicament, according to Philippe Clement, is “crazy,” and as they wait to find out if their match against Dundee can go forward, it’s not ideal for Scottish football.

With a trip to Dens as well as a game in hand over Celtic on Wednesday, Rangers want to reclaim the top spot in the Premiership. The weather prediction in that region of the country is concerning, though, since Dundee has already postponed four home games this season owing to the pitch, despite chairman John Nelms and manager Tony Docherty promising supporters the game will go as scheduled.

Their home encounter with Rangers was initially pencilled in for March 21 but it was notoriously called off only two hours before kick-off, much to Clement’s dismay. Even with the comforting sounds emanating from Dens Park, the boss concedes that there is a certain amount of nervousness.

While Dundee maintains that they are not preparing for the worst, Record Sport disclosed on Monday night that the team is developing backup plans in case the game is postponed. Clement, in his press conference, called for “solutions” to ensure that the match goes ahead, saying, “It’s a crazy situation, we are going to travel now and stay (overnight), but we don’t know for sure if the game is on. It’s a bad situation for the league. We have to find a good solution to get this game played. If it was moved to next week we could find ourselves in the same situation once again if it rains.”

We want a decent football game to happen, thus the club has been in communication with the league and Dundee. They are fighting for the top six, which is producing plenty of opportunities. Thus, playing a strong team will be a significant test.” on injuries, Clement expressed optimism on Ridvan Yilmaz, stating that he is “days rather than weeks” away from making a comeback. This is good news because Dujon Sterling had to substitute for Celtic last weekend at left defense. But Ryan Jack is still a long way from making a comeback.

Clement said: “Ridvan is still missing, not long-term but not fit for this game. It’s a matter of days, not weeks for him. Ryan Jack, we are looking at other solutions to get him back, it is a long-term calf issue and I don’t want to risk bringing him back and causing a further injury – we are looking at long-term solutions.”
