Wolves want to replace Neto with a “extraordinary” Mendes client

Despite Wolverhampton Wanderers’ aspirations to finish in the top half of the Premier League this year, Gary O’Neil’s team lacks true depth, especially when it comes to his attacking alternatives.

O’Neil has been forced to use the skills of Nathan Fraser and Leon Chiwome in the starting XI lately due to injuries sustained by Pedro Neto, Hwang Hee-Chan, and Matheus Cunha in recent weeks.

Despite having a few gifted kids at their disposal, the Old Gold are aiming for a top-half finish and may pay a price in the long run due to their lack of true experience in the last third. The former manager of Bournemouth may use the summer transfer window to bolster his attacking options; one player is already being mentioned as a possible addition.

Wolves considering replacing Neto Sport, a Spanish publication, reports that Ansu Fati, a starlet on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, will not be extending his contract to stay with the Seasiders for the upcoming campaign.

After arriving to the south coast last summer, the young player has not been able to leave his mark, so he is returning to Barcelona to consider his alternatives. Moving to Wolves is one of these options. The Molineux team has a long-standing relationship with Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, which may help them in their efforts to make a short-term transfer for him.

La Liga teams Valencia and Sevilla, who are eager to have the Barcelona phenomenon in their lineup for the upcoming season, are mentioned in the article as showing interest. A permanent contract might be too expensive for Wolves given that he still has a contract with the Catalan giants through 2027 and that his current market worth is €19.2 million (£16.5 million), according to Football Transfers.

However, since Fati has already gained some Premier League experience this season, a loan move would be advantageous for them.

Recently, Pedro Neto has drawn notice; for the duration of the season, at least, Fati might be a reliable substitute for the Portuguese winger.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool are interested in signing Neto this summer in an effort to bolster their current rosters, according to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph.

According to him, Wolves currently value the winger at around £60 million, which might help them abide by financial fair play rules.

According to McGrath, Arsenal was interested in Neto two years prior, but the Old Gold were in a far better position because he had already signed a long-term contract. With three years remaining on his present deal, Wolves may decide to sell him this summer in an attempt to make a sizable profit.
