Former Super falcons Star: History will remember these girls for that accomplishment, so it’s time we qualified.

History will remember these girls for that accomplishment, so it’s time we qualified.

The nine-time African champions, according to Super Falcons striker Esther Okoronkwo, think they will secure qualifying in Pretoria on Tuesday even though they have a narrow 1-0 lead in the competition for a position in the 2024 Olympic Games’ group stage in Paris, France.

Banyana Banyana headed into halftime losing by just one goal, but Rasheedat Ajibade converted from the spot with ease.

The sides will play again in Pretoria on Tuesday to decide who will compete in the summer games in France, thus Banyana Banyana will need to give it everything they have in the second leg.

Okoronkwo, who came on as a second-half substitute in the first game in Abuja, declared, “For me, we’re going to Paris.”

“Our destination is Paris.

“We will handle ourselves in the second leg, so there is no chance of a loss.”

The Super Falcons had up to fifteen opportunities last Friday, but they were unable to convert any of them. Instead, they required a penalty goal from captain Rasheedat Ajibade in the first half to win.

Stella Mbachu, a former star of the Super Falcons, also voiced optimism in the team’s effort to make it to the Olympics for the first time since 2008.

“We have to earn a spot in the Olympics,” Mbachu stated.

There, we’re going to win them over. Despite Banyana’s defensive strategy in Abuja, the Falcons overwhelmed them in the opening leg. We can defeat them in the second leg in South Africa because we are stronger and faster.

“History will remember these girls for that feat, so it’s time we qualify.”
