Chris Wood is expected to continue scoring goals and support Nottingham Forest in their Premier League survival fight, according to Nuno Espirito Santo. The striker’s nine goals in the previous 12 games have been vital for Forest, especially during Taiwo Awoniyi’s injured absence. Espirito Santo emphasized the importance of Wood in his remarks prior to his Sunday trip to Tottenham with Forest: “He has been very important for us, especially with the absence of Taiwo with the needs we have in that position.”
“He has been performing well and hopefully it keeps like that because we need not only Chris Wood but all of the players,” he said, praising Wood’s most recent performances.
As Nuno noted: “He is in a good moment not only scoring goals, but having good involvement in the team.” Wood’s contributions go beyond goals. The manager also emphasized the significance of Wood’s play-connecting abilities, saying, “His ability to link the spaces is very important.” He seems to be doing well, so hopefully it continues.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga have been the attacking duo for Forest lately, with Morgan Gibbs-White providing backup. This lineup worked well in their 3-1 victory over Fulham. Football is an unpredictable sport, so Espirito Santo isn’t committed to deciding on a favorite starting lineup. “What I have learned from football is that you can never think you’ve got what it takes because you always have ups and downs,” he said.
Nothing declares, “This is what the team needs,” or “This is the best.” We have to think about the games, the opponent, the momentum, and the form, among other things.” Tottenham can reclaim their spot in the Champions League qualifying rounds if they defeat Forest on Sunday in north London.
