Leeds United manager Daniel Farke surpasses Marcelo Bielsa in a crucial area as he attempts to set a historic record.

Already, Leeds United has surpassed their home point total from Marcelo Bielsa’s championship-winning 2019–20 campaign. Having won 16 games and drawn four, the Whites have the greatest record in this area out of all 23 Championship teams.

They are still undefeated at Elland Road this season. On his way to second-tier glory in 2019–29, Bielsa led Leeds to 50 points at Elland Road. However, the current team has amassed an incredibly impressive 52 points, which could reach 61 if the Whites win their final three home games of the season and set a new Championship point total.

Three clubs have hit 60 points in a single season at home before: Reading (2005–06), Sunderland (1998–99), and Manchester City (2001–02). However, none of these teams managed to go undefeated at home.

Leeds’ all-time home point total of 54 comes from their championship-winning 1989–1990 season, in which Howard Wilkinson managed 16 victories, 6 draws, and 1 loss from 24 home games.

In terms of scoring, Daniel Farke has amassed more points than he did in either of his Norwich City seasons. In order to secure Premier League football, the German’s two championship teams at Carrow Road saw their teams score 49 and 48 points, respectively.

Farke said on Thursday, “They are the biggest value and asset of the club,” in reference to the significance of Leeds fans and their role in helping the team achieve such a strong record.

Their assistance is exceptional. As soon as you sign a contract with Leeds United, you have obligations, and I think it’s great that you have to demonstrate accountability to represent the team and its supporters.

This club’s greatest asset is their ability to get us through trying times. Yes, they are really significant to us.”
