Wolves warned about supporter misconduct

The Football Association has issued a warning to Wolves about supporter misconduct following their FA Cup match against West Bromwich Albion in January. Wolves was not fined by the FA for the off-field activities at The Hawthorns, but they were reminded of their ongoing obligation to make sure that their fans behave properly when they are at a game.

This season, there had been misbehavior at a number of Wolves away games, including the usage of pyrotechnics that has led to arrests.

Football stadiums are prohibited from using smoke bombs and fireworks, which can be extremely harmful and have dire repercussions.

Football’s top goal is the safety of all spectators, and it is risky to use pyrotechnics or toss things into crowds or onto the playing field.

In accordance with the club’s Acceptable Behavior Policy, which you can find by clicking here, positive action will be taken to identify, prohibit, and prosecute anyone who behaves in such a way.

This action will include communication with opposing clubs and the use of CCTV. The Football Association’s reminder will now be kept on file and considered by the FA when deciding whether to impose official disciplinary action in the event that similar instances recur.

If that occurs, the club will have to prove that it has taken enough precautions to deal with its misbehavior by spectators.
