According to a source, Dujon Sterling is desired by Jamaica for their Copa America campaign.
The England-born Rangers player has under-20 international experience, but because both of his parents are Jamaican, he is qualified to play for the Reggae Boyz. Before they compete in the competition this summer, manager Heimir Hallgrímsson wants him to swear devotion.
The Jamaica Football Federation has reached out to Sterling, and according to the Scottish Sun, he is eager to accept their offer. The 24-year-old has shown promise in a number of roles since seeing more action under Philippe Clement, and positive scouting reports have been submitted for Hallgrimsson.
Mexico, Ecuador, and Venezuela are in Jamaica’s group, and if they advance in the competition, the former Chelsea player would miss a significant portion of the preseason leading up to the 2024–2025 season.
After the last international break, Dexter Lembikisa, a loanee from Hearts, scored a spectacular goal against Panama, and Sterling would probably fight for a spot at right-back.
