Today, Celtic faced criticism in the form of a joint fan group statement denouncing their decision to permit the Celtic End to make a comeback for the women’s team before to their April 21 home match against Heart of Midlothian.

In order to return to a goal-end full of color and atmosphere rather than the easy conversation between fans and the club that occurred in 2023, the Green Brigade, Bhoys, and North Curve have pointed to barriers put in their way by Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, and associates.

Parkhead was a wall of sound the previous year, especially during our thrilling triumph over Hearts on the last day, when over 15,882 spectators set a record for Scottish Women’s Football. The majority of them were in the Jock Stein lower, where the Ghirls just missed out on championship glory [Sky Sports].

The clubs decision to cancel the May 19th match against Hibernian, which was made because of safety concerns, has led to a collective decision by the groups not to attend the forthcoming encounter.

The Daily Record reports that a representative for Celtic has since addressed the prior comment, stating that the rail seating area will be available for the two Scottish Women’s Premier League games at Parkhead.

They stated: “The club has made arrangements to allow the group to attend within the rail seating section, but they were informed that the Jock Stein would not be available due to certain safety concerns relating to this specific area.”

The club wants that as many supporters and supporter groups as possible attend Celtic FC Women’s games, including the upcoming ones at Celtic Park. This has been relayed to the group.

As someone who experienced the atmosphere that the Celtic End produced the previous year, I can attest that the decision to deny our women’s team another opportunity to get that boisterous support is deeply unpopular with the general public.

We ought to be considering methods to improve the Parkhead matchday experience, and it doesn’t help that last year’s video was repurposed in advertising to promote the Hearts match ticket release.

We will have to believe the club when they say that, though. Nevertheless, as many fans as possible should be able to make there as the Hoops prepare for two crucial games that will take place at home and have significant consequences.
