Philippe Clement responds to the actions of the Rangers Women at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Following Rangers Women’s victory against Partick Thistle in the Sky Sports Cup final on Sunday, March 24, Philippe Clement responded on social media.

The manager of the Gers men’s team wrote on his personal Twitter page on Sunday, congratulating Jo Potter and her squad on their 4-1 victory, saying “big congratulations.”

At Tynecastle, goals from Rio Hardy, Mia McAuley, Rachel Rowe, and Olivia McLoughlin made sure the Light Blues kept the trophy.

Rangers Women’s achievement in the SWPL Cup merits recognition.

It’s good to see Clement pause to offer congratulations to Potter and her team on their victory over Partick in the cup final.

With three goals in the first half, the team put on a fantastic display and defeated Thistle in the match.

Following the match, there was some controversy around the placement of a Gers badge over the Jambos emblem inside the changing room. In response, Hearts released a statement.

Unfortunately, the Edinburgh club’s request for explanations on why their badge was hidden at Tynecastle has detracted some attention from the victory.

However, the highlight should be on how well the Light Blues performed; they will be hoping to build on the outcome to win additional championships this year.

In other Rangers news, following what transpired with the Gers, Neil Lennon declared a scenario to be “unacceptable.”
