After winning the cup, Jo Potter focuses on the Rangers treble chase.

Jo Potter is hoping that Rangers can win everything in her first season at Ibrox because of the positive vibes generated by a League Cup victory.

Potter’s team defeated Partick Thistle with ease on Sunday, winning the inaugural trophy of the season thanks to goals from Rio Hardy, Mia McAulay, Rachel Rowe, and Liv McLoughlin.

Rangers’ focus will now shift to their match against Hibernian in the SWPL, which takes place next week. Potter’s team will also be facing Celtic in the Scottish Cup. After being appointed last summer, the former England midfielder has made a remarkable effect. This term, she wants to add two more causes for celebration.

As Potter put it, “I think it is big.” It all comes down to momentum. Getting the first trophy is never easy. We are the ones at the front of the league who are most likely to be attacked; we are always present and still waiting to be discovered. Everyone want to be like us. We anticipate it. It’s how we handle that pressure and how we function under it.

That seems like a major moment for today. I told the girls, “This is your trophy, make sure you keep your hands on it and retain it,” knowing that it’s never easy to hold onto a trophy. We repeat for the subsequent one.

It might be [a burden relieved from us]. I believe this is the case since winning was expected of us. It was all up to us to show up and claim this trophy.

As we have stated, I believe the performance exhibited some genuine character and leadership. We played a great closing quarter of the match, and these are the things we are aiming for. We are also looking forward to playing Hibs the following week.

“As the season draws to a close, nothing is simple right now; we know it will be difficult. Although it can be difficult at times to not look forward, there is one trophy there that we must make sure to savor.
