Rangers lead the most recent Premiership market value update, with John Souttar receiving a substantial boost.

The top 10 players in the Scottish Premiership who have witnessed the most increases in their individual transfer valuations include five Rangers players.

Data published by Transfermarkt in December of last year indicates that the Rangers’ overall squad value has declined annually since the 2021/22 campaign.

Rangers’ season-long run to the Scottish Cup final and Europa League Final saw a significant increase in the squad’s overall valuation, which came to over £138 million.

However, since then, the Light Blues have fired two managers and have failed to unseat Celtic as the reigning Scottish Premiership champion.

Unfortunately, the Ibrox club failed to win any trophies during the 2022–2023 season while the Hoops won a domestic triple crown. In general, Gers fans had been suffering greatly prior to Philippe Clement taking over as manager in October.

Within five months, however, the Belgian brought new life to the team and, in the Viaplay Cup versus Aberdeen, he won the first domestic trophy of the season.

Rangers, who had a game in hand over Celtic and were seven points down in the title race when Michael Beale was fired in October, are currently only one point behind.

Rangers is the team that gains the most from Transfermarkt’s most recent transfer value update for the Scottish Premiership, having won 12 of their previous 15 games across all competitions.

Values soar for and four others.

Since Transfermarkt’s most recent major update in December 2023, the transfer prices of five Rangers players have increased. They are as follows:

£2.1 million (+ £862k) for John Souttar

Todd Cantwell: £7.3 million (+£431,000)

Yilmaz Ridvan – £4.3 million (+£431k)

Mohamed Diomande: £3 million + £431,00

Dujon Sterling: £2.5 million plus £431,00

The highest rise has gone to John Souttar, who is currently serving with Scotland on an international level.

The central defender has had an excellent season and has avoided injuries for long stretches of time.

Despite losing at Ibrox, he excelled against Benfica in the Europa League last 16 second leg and has started every minute of nine of Rangers’ previous ten Scottish Premiership games.

Dujon Sterling and Ridvan Yilmaz have come out of the early season shadows to establish themselves as essential parts of Philippe Clement’s first team in Govan.

However, Todd Cantwell and Mohamed Diomande have both been outstanding so far in 2024, with the Ivorian scoring twice in as many league games.

The value of Rangers’ whole roster increased to £93.7 million in December 2023 from £86.6 million. Transfermarkt, however, has discounted several of the team’s stars:

Kemar Roofe – £258k – £1.7m

Nicolas Raskin: -£431k / £6.4m

Ben Davies: £2.5 million (-£431,000)

Kieran Dowell: £1.3 million (-£431,000)

5.1 million (-£862K) Danilo

Borna Barisic: £3.8 million (£862,00)

Ryan Jack: -£862K; £1.3m
