When healthy, Daniel Jones is “the guy,” according to Giants coach Brian Daboll.

The rumors regarding the quarterback position for the New York Giants are still rife. Head coach Brian Daboll stated on Saturday that Daniel Jones is still “the guy” when healthy, at least for the foreseeable future.

Daboll had a conversation from the NFL league meetings with NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

Concerned about Jones’ long-term health and his poor performance in 2023, the Giants signed experienced backup quarterback Drew Lock. However, there is persistent rumor that the Giants may choose to choose a quarterback early in the 2024 NFL Draft.

But according to Daboll, there isn’t much competition for the first position.

The Giants have expressed hope for Jones’ full recovery following his ACL surgery. The team is optimistic that Jones will be prepared to go through training camp and be ready to play come the start of the regular season.

However, there’s no assurance.
