Jeff Stelling says Newcastle’s Australia tour will undoubtedly be without two players.

Three days after the season ends, Newcastle United will play a friendly against Tottenham in Australia, the club said Tuesday.

Reactions to the news have been highly varied; many have suggested that the players should take a break and that it is way too soon after the Brentford game.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jeff Stelling gave his word that Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon will not play in the match, particularly because it takes place before the European Championships.

Stelling believes that the Newcastle pair have more pressing issues.

It is clear why Newcastle and Tottenham are eager to play the friendly in Australia: to expand their brands globally and boost their advertising budgets, which will eventually support their transfer budgets.

According to Stelling, Gordon and Trippier won’t want to jeopardize their chances of representing England in the summer for what will, in their opinion, be a meaningless match against Newcastle in May.

Gordon isn’t going to jeopardize anything, especially because this is his first opportunity to compete in a major event for his nation and he’s shown his pride in representing them.

Stelling made the following statement on the Newcastle team: “I promise you Anthony Gordon and Kieran Trippier won’t go. I promise! They are unable to.

The reason for playing it just three days after the season began is still unknown, especially considering Newcastle has already endured enough hardships due to a hectic schedule that has resulted in a sizable number of injuries.

This is the last thing Newcastle supporters would have anticipated to see at the end of the Premier League season, given the season that the team has had and the pressure that is currently growing on the team.

Newcastle already has a ton of work to do in the summer, including preparing for preseason, finding some new first-team players, and getting all of their players available.

It’s unclear if Eddie Howe had any input, but his job is already tough enough without having to juggle attempting to safeguard some of his star players with an end-of-season friendly.

The only bright side is that it allows Howe a little more time to assess his team and try some new things before everyone heads out for a well-earned vacation.
