Tottenham is now trailing Arsenal in the competition for a Premier League player.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal is now first in line to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto in the summer, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

Since Neto is playing at his best right now, it should come as no surprise that a number of the Premier League’s top players are keeping an eye on the winger.

The Portuguese star is among the names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist, according to numerous reports over the past few weeks that Ange Postecoglou is eager to add a top-tier winger to his team in the summer (Independent).

GiveMeSport, however, has now disclosed that the Gunners, ahead of their North London rivals, are the front-runners to sign Neto in the summer.

The 23-year-old has reportedly drawn interest from Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Manchester United as well, but Mikel Arteta’s team is now leading the pack and isn’t hesitant to spend big money on the pacy wideman.

According to the site, Neto’s future won’t likely be decided until after the European Championship, and Wolves are hoping for a bidding war to break out so they can get a cool £80 million for their lucky striker.

The Premier League has indicated that it will penalize clubs who do not adhere to the financial limits, therefore we should expect a decrease in transfer prices that summer.

Because of this, I do not see many £80 million deals taking place in the summer, and teams would undoubtedly be hesitant to spend that kind of money for a player with Neto’s history of injuries.
