The forward on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, Timo Werner, has performed admirably thus far.
Spurs signed Werner on a loan from RB Leipzig in order to improve their attacking lineup during the January transfer window.
At the end of the current campaign, Spurs supposedly have a £15 million option to acquire the Germany international long-term.
In Werner’s seven Premier League games under Ange Postecoglou, he has two goals and two assists so far.
Give MeSport said earlier this week that Tottenham is now “likely to take advantage of the option” to convert Werner’s loan into a long-term contract.
Dean Jones has now offered some additional details and insights about the Spurs’ position with the 28-year-old in a piece published in the same publication on Wednesday.
As far as the transfer insider is concerned, “it’s hard to see any other decision” besides Tottenham purchasing Werner right now.
For Spurs, who would be getting a “steal” in signing Werner for a meager £15 million, Jones believes it’s a “no-brainer.”
After this season, it’s difficult to imagine Werner staying at Spurs for any other reason,” he wrote.
“Considering the caliber and experience he can bring to the team, his option to sign for £15 million is a steal.
Spurs will require some experienced managers of games and circumstances if they are to advance to the Champions League. At that level, Werner has participated in nearly 40 games.
It seems obvious when you consider that Spurs will need to add more variety to their roster for the upcoming campaign by participating in both local and European competitions, and that a player of this caliber is available for just £15 million.
Werner is undoubtedly a strong candidate to join Tottenham’s roster after the current campaign ends.
With a wealth of skill and experience, including playing in the Premier League and Champions League, he is a “outstanding” talent.
It’s obvious to purchase given the reported £15 million option, as Jones states. Spurs would receive an excellent forward option from their roster, the kind that would be expected to cost at least £50 million.
Werner and Tottenham appear to be collaborating beyond the end of the current campaign, with the player joining Spurs’ roster.
