As the race for promotion nears its finish, an Arsenal legend predicts Leeds United’s Premier League season.

This season, the former England goalie believes Daniel Farke’s team will earn promotion from the Championship.

The great David Seaman of England and Arsenal is an expert when it comes to winning trophies. The well-known goalie accomplished nearly everything in a dazzling career, making him better suited than others to understand what it takes.

Naturally, Seaman is a devoted supporter of Leeds United and has never forgotten his Yorkshire heritage. He was born in Rotherham. As a result, the 60-year-old has a special interest in this season’s Championship promotion race and is impressed with Daniel Farke’s team.

With current leaders Leicester City playing Chelsea in the FA Cup, Leeds could take the lead in the standings if they defeat Millwall by two goals at Elland Road on Sunday. With just nine games remaining, the Whites may be making a major move in an attempt to escape the dangers of the postseason.

The Premier League race has been dominated by four teams this season: Leeds, Ipswich Town, and Southampton have been pursuing Leicester for the most of the campaign. Nonetheless, the four teams will believe they have a good chance of earning an automatic promotion slot now that the Foxes have been thoroughly caught.

The notion that two of those four teams will be sent to the play-offs and that at least one of them will not be promoted is absurd, as it provides no assurance whatsoever of success. For Seaman, though, the three teams that were demoted from the top division the previous year have the upper hand over Ipswich, with Leeds being favored to win the championship.

He added on his Seaman Says Podcast, “I think the three that went down will go up.” I am not predicting that Southampton will overtake Leeds for second place, am I? We’re gonna win the league, so you could surprise Leicester.

After their match against Preston North End was postponed last week, Southampton has a match in hand over their opponents. When the season gets to the crunch, there might only be six points separating the top four if they win that.
