Pundit targets Rangers star on social media; should the club step in?

When will Rangers have to step up and stop the former Celtic striker’s constant accusations so Todd Cantwell can focus on his football career?

Rangers player Todd Cantwell had to put up with the attentions of a man twice his age, which blurs the line between friendly banter and abuse.

Yes, Chris Sutton is back at it again. This isn’t the first time he’s targeted the number 13 for the Gers, and it most likely won’t be the last.

Posting, as he always does, on X, Sutton has named his top five list of the worst divers of all time and, predictably, he has named Cantwell at number five.

Football lags far behind in an era when nearly every business is prioritizing mental health.

Cantwell shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of stuff anymore—he’s already missed games this season for personal reasons.

He’s not even among the top five worst Scottish football players this season, let alone all time.

The highlight reel for Kyogo Furuhashi is terrible.

He has often collided with teammates and fallen to the ground while holding his face; all you have to do is search for “Kyogo diving” on social media to view his past performances. It’s not just about exaggerating contact, as most players do.

No one in Scotland attempts to fool the referees more frequently than Kyogo; oddly, he hasn’t been nearly as awful since VAR has been implemented.

Prior to coming to Ibrox, Todd Cantwell had never done anything like this while playing for the Rangers, and Sutton had never criticized him.

Is it really any surprise that the Gers playmaker occasionally goes down expecting contact given the treatment he receives?

Sutton is definitely beginning to take his punditry to a new low and personal level, especially in light of the hatred he has recently directed towards officials.

He also questions why he was barred from Ibrox.
