Leeds United anticipates having two first-team players return in the squad versus Millwall.

Jaidon Anthony has missed Leeds United’s previous two Championship games because of personal issues, but he should be back for this weekend’s home matchup against Millwall.

Leeds presently sits second, one point ahead of Ipswich Town, and has nine games remaining before the end of the season to secure automatic promotion.

This weekend presents an opportunity to win as Daniel Farke’s team hosts Millwall at Elland Road on Sunday.

Jaidon Anthony last played for Leeds in a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, although he hasn’t been available for the team’s past two games in March.

His mother’s burial was the reason for his absence, but LeedsLive has revealed that he is expected to return for the Whites’ encounter against Millwall on Sunday after taking some time off:

“Jaidon Anthony is anticipated to be available this weekend, but he has been absent from the Whites’ last two matchday squads. Anthony was eliminated from contention for the week due to the funeral of his mother, which occurred last week.

Another player who may return for this week’s home match is Jamie Shackleton. He has been sidelined recently because he became sick while traveling to Chelsea and experienced concussion-like symptoms, which compelled him to adhere to protocol.

Stuart Dallas is still out for the foreseeable future and won’t be back for this match, but he should be able to return given the nine days that separate matchups.

After the international break, Pascal Struijk hopes to make a comeback after battling adductor issues since the end of December.

Although Anthony and Shackleton are healthy for this game, their availability gives us more depth, they wouldn’t be seeking to start.

Anthony in particular is a great addition to the team again since, as evidenced by his performance in the Chelsea FA Cup match, he has looked much better in 2024 and has improved from wide areas.

Though having him as a backup is fantastic, he doesn’t have much of a chance to start with Crysencio Summerville securing the left wing.
