Scottish Premiership teams will vote on whether to outlaw artificial turf.

The question of banning artificial surfaces from the top flight will be put to a vote by Scottish Premiership teams. The stadiums of Kilmarnock and Livingston now contain artificial turf; however, the Ayrshire club has promised to install grass in its place.

The Daily Mail reports that premier league teams will cast their votes next month to decide whether to abandon artificial pitches before the start of the new season. To pass the plan, eleven teams out of twelve must vote in favor of it.

Should the vote pass, Killie and Livi would have a grace period during which they may turn their surface into a grass field within a set amount of time.

Raith Rovers, a team competing for promotion in Kirkcaldy, are probably keeping an eye on the move. They use an artificial surface for their games, and if they were promoted, they probably would have a grace period before switching to grass.
