Matheus Cunha may surprise everyone by returning to the Wolves.

Head coach Gary O’Neil has disclosed that Matheus Cunha may make a stunning injury comeback in time for Wolves’ crucial FA Cup quarterfinal matchup against Coventry.

After the international break, the Brazilian, who had a hamstring strain last month, was supposed to return.

However, O’Neil feels there’s a chance the forward will recover in time for the pivotal match the following weekend because he’s already started running on the training field.

O’Neil stated, “I haven’t ruled him out of the Coventry game.

First of all, he won’t let me, and secondly, I don’t want to. Given how good he’s doing, there’s a potential he could be playing against Coventry.

But I’m not going to take any significant chances with Matheus Cunha. He is working extremely hard to return as soon as possible, and it is our duty to take care of him while also being fervent in our desire to have him return to assist us.
