Leeds United’s Daniel Farke is winning Championship manager of the month awards, surprising him as someone who declared earlier in the season that he was not interested in individual accolades.
Farke has now received the award three times in the last four months, having only received it once in his two championship-winning seasons with Norwich City.
Much like the January reward, the February award was somewhat obvious as the Whites maintained their perfect start to 2024 in the league, a run that was only broken in March by Huddersfield Town.
They have only let up one goal in that period of time, and it came during an outstanding double against Leicester City, the league leaders they have assisted in overtaking.
Although Leeds may have outplayed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, they were eliminated from the FA Cup in February 3-2 due to a stoppage-time goal by Conor Gallagher. Their 4-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle in extra time set up the fifth-round tie.
The players’ award went to Omari Hutchinson of Ipswich Town instead of Ilia Gruev, the midfielder for Leeds. The Sheffield Wednesday player Ike Ugbo was also defeated by Hutchinson.
