Rangers defender Filip Helander is looking forward to seeing Ibrox again in Govan.

Filip Helander, a former Rangers defender, has acknowledged that he dreams of returning to Ibrox to watch a game with his old teammates.

Between 2019 and 2023, the Swedish center back played for four seasons at Ibrox before moving on a free transfer to Odense in the Danish Super ligaen.

Even though Helander spent multiple seasons with the Scottish powerhouse, he only managed to make 60 appearances. Nevertheless, he is excited to get up with his old teammates and see an incredible campaign led by Philippe Clement from the stands.

In an interview with GlasgowWorld on Wednesday, March 6, he stated: “I had four great years with Rangers, particularly the first two where I played a lot. Unfortunately, injuries kept me from playing a lot the latter two seasons.

“These guys deserve all the success in the world, but I wish I could have accomplished more in the last two years.” To be fair to them, whether or not I would be fit at the moment, I was always somewhat insecure about myself. I’m without any hard feelings.

I still feel pleased of my time there and just wish them luck. I try to encourage them as much as I can because we had a great time together when we were able to win 55. One day, I hope to return there to watch a great game and perhaps run into some of the guys still there.

It is highly probable that Helander would receive a warm reception upon his return to Ibrox following a four-year tenure with the team.

Even though Connor Goldson, 31, and Leon Balogun, 35, are still on the team, the 30-year-old is still performing at a respectable level and has started 13 of Odense’s 20 league games thus far. However, it seems unlikely that he will play again for the Rangers.

The narrative being constructed at Ibrox, which Clement has been handling since replacing Michael Beale in October, is circulating among football fans and has the potential to be a very thrilling conclusion to the season.

The Gers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership trophy appeared to be out of the question under the Beale administration. These same aspirations, however, have been rekindled under the Belgian, as Celtic has recently lost its top spot.

Together with this, the Gers still have games still to play in the Europa League against Benfica, which could result in some hardware being brought to Ibrox before the season is out.
