Following the completion of a £10 million deal between Liel Abada and MLS team Charlotte FC, the winger is expected to depart Celtic.

It is believed that the Israel international will visit the United States this week to complete the transfer and receive a medical examination.

Abada will report to Charlotte FC head coach Dean Smith, a former manager of Leicester and Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old, who Celtic signed for an estimated £3.5 million from Israeli team Maccabi Petah Tikva four years ago, is expected to fetch a healthy profit.

After receiving serious interest from other teams, Abada signed a new four-year contract with Celtic in the summer.

Abada’s role has been restricted this season, though, because to an injury and personal problems.

Because of worries for his family during the prolonged turmoil in the Middle East, Brendan Rodgers acknowledged last month that Abada might have to leave Celtic.

Since the 2-1 victory at Hibernian on February 7, Abada has not been on the Celtic field. Rodgers has stated that Abada “wasn’t in the right frame of mind” for the match.

In 112 games, he has accrued 22 goals and 29 assists for Celtic. He was a key member of Ange Postecoglou’s treble-winning team the previous season.
