Rangers hold the title game-changer, and Celtic star has no “way back” at Parkhead with a transfer on the horizon.

As he oversaw the winger’s absence from Parkhead, Frank McAvennie believes that Liel Abada’s Celtic career is finished.

Due to a conflict with Hamas in his homeland, Israeli international Brendan Rodgers has not been playing recently. Rodgers has confirmed that he is not in the correct frame of mind to play. It has sparked discussion about his future, with MLS teams reportedly showing interest in him.

If they are unable to come to an agreement, Abada will have to wait until the summer to make arrangements to leave Parkhead. McAvennie told Football Insider that while he thinks Abada’s time in the park is over, he would still like to see him.

“I would include Abada in the team if he were present,” he stated. He should play if I could put my trust in him to go outside and let all the noise out of his mind.

That’s all I have to say—I don’t think he can go back. Though I have no time for those who try to insert politics into football, I would really like to see the boy.

The world has gone insane, so there is no place for it. You attend games as an escape from that. I feel horrible for Abada since not everyone loves him and there are others who oppose him. The boy must be having difficulty. Given that they will be speaking, I believe Brendan is the ideal person to have there. He will be aware of Abada’s playing status.

The veteran striker has also praised Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland in the midst of the Glasgow rivals’ close title contest. He thinks Rangers might win five games and earn five points from the shot stopper who is getting close to rejoining the England team.

“Rangers have had some magnificent goalkeepers,” McAvennie continued. Rangers could score a lot of points—perhaps 15 points a season—if Butland is able to win them. He has led them through games when the defense wasn’t playing well, but not as much these days since they’re playing more attacking football.

“He’s made incredible saves, akin to Joe Hart at Celtic.” Rangers have a huge need for a goalkeeper, and they have one in Butland.
