In the match against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool may welcome back four injured players. The could benefit Liverpool

When Liverpool plays Nottingham Forest this Saturday (3pm) in the Premier League, the return of multiple injured players could help the team.

Thanks to the club’s young potential, a weaker Liverpool team without 14 injured and sick players made it to the FA Cup quarterfinals Friday night. The Carabao Cup champions defeated Southampton 3-0 to extend their winning streak at Anfield to 29 games in all competitions. Jayden Danns and Lewis Koumas, both 18 years old, scored the goals.

And because Liverpool is feeling good right now, they will be ready for their upcoming Premier League game this weekend. On Saturday, they leave for Nottingham Forest at 3 p.m. They were defeated by a team that was at the bottom of the table 1-0 at the City Ground in the previous season.

The Reds will be hoping for another three points after defeating the same relegation-threatened opponents 3-0 at Anfield in October. In the Sunday derby between Manchester United and champion Manchester City at the Etihad, a victory would put them four points ahead of the opposition.

The return of as many as four players who were all absent from the FA Cup win could enhance Liverpool’s prospects of pulling off a significant away win. Because of a “proper knock” he received at the Carabao Cup final, Wataru Endo was not present. The Merseyside team is optimistic that the Japanese destroyer, who impressed against Chelsea, will be fit for Forest.

Liverpool named both James McConnell and Bobby Clark in midfield against Southampton while Joe Gomez took up an unusual role as the No. 6. That was with Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic all sidelined.

Though Alexis Mac Allister did not get to start, he did play for 30 minutes as a substitute. In Nottingham, Endo and the unstoppable Elliott should be paired with him. Additionally, Dominik Szoboszlai will likely be used off the bench by Jurgen Klopp. Since Chelsea’s crushing defeat in the league last month, the Hungarian has not been available. He worsened a hamstring issue that had sidelined him for several weeks earlier in January during the 4-1 victory.

At a time when Thiago and Bajcetic are out for the long term, Gravenberch and Jones will miss at least the next two games, Szoboszlai’s return would be crucial. Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, who are both healthy, should start in the attacking duo at Forest, particularly considering that the Colombian was rested against Southampton. However, for the last three games, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez have been unavailable to the Reds.
