A crucial player in Leicester City’s FA Cup triumph is being pursued by a Saudi Pro League team.

This individual, who spent three years at Leicester City, may be involved in the bustling summer transfer window that the Saudi Arabian clubs are likely to have.

Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia is interested in hiring the recruitment consultant who worked on the victorious FA Cup squad at Leicester City.

That is in line with many rumors stating that the Jeddah-based team has identified Lee Congerton, who is now with Serie A team Atalanta, as its new sports director.

Despite having players like Edouard Mendy, Allan Saint Maximin, and Roberto Firmino on their roster, Al Ahli, led by former West Brom and Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay, are currently third in the Pro League, 16 points behind leaders Al Hilal.

Congerton played with the Foxes for three years at the King Power Stadium. He arrived from Celtic in 2019 and departed in March 2022. During that time, the team twice finished fifth in the Premier League and won the FA Cup against Chelsea in 2021.

He joined the discussions that resulted in Rasmus Hojlund’s £72 million summer transfer to Manchester United. He has been with Atalanta since 2022.

Several Premier League clubs are reportedly considering him. Earlier this season, he was even connected to United, but the Red Devils have since chosen Dan Ashworth. It continues, saying that Al Ahli is now “pushing for him” to sign before the summer transfer market opens. Additionally, North Walian Congerton has held positions at Hamburg, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Celtic.
