Todd Cantwell, a product of the Norwich City academy, played for the Canaries for well over a century before leaving in January of last year.
The playmaker was once a key member of the Canaries team, but in the seasons prior to his departure to join Rangers, his impact decreased.
The attacking midfielder won two Championship titles with the Canaries during the 2018–19 and 2020–21 seasons, when they were guided to victory in the second division by then-manager Daniel Farke.
He made 24 appearances and 18 starts in the 2018–19 second-tier title-winning campaign, contributing one goal and two assists.
The following season, Cantwell was able to establish himself in the Premier League with six goals and two assists in 37 games; nevertheless, his efforts were unable to stop the Canaries from making an unwelcome return to the Championship at the first attempt.
But in the 2020–21 campaign, Cantwell and Norwich both made amends and won their second Championship championship in as many years. The star player contributed six goals and six assists in 33 games, including 30 starts.
However, the attacking midfielder’s 2021–2022 season did not go as planned. In eight Premier League games during the first half of the season, he failed to contribute to a single goal for the Canaries, and in January 2022, he was loaned out to Bournemouth, then in the Championship.
Cantwell’s move to the South Coast did not have the desired effect on his career; in 11 appearances and eight starts, he failed to contribute any goals or assists for the Cherries.
After the Canaries were relegated once more, he would return to Carrow Road before the 2022–2023 season. However, in January 2023, he signed a permanent deal to play for Scottish Premiership powerhouse Rangers.
