Juju-like drama is just a diversion, according to Abiodun

Deborah Abiodun, the master of the Super Falcons’ midfield, claims that the juju-like drama that erupted during their game against Cameroon was just an attempt by their opponents to divert attention.

Following an electrifying match in Abuja, the nine-time African champions Super Falcons defeated Cameroon’s Lionesses 1-0 in a pivotal second-leg women’s Olympic football qualifier, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

However, a little drama unfolded at the start of the second half inside the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

This came after a player from Cameroon tried to plant something that looked like juju at the Super Falcons goalpost.

Chiamaka Nnadozie, Nigeria’s goalkeeper, who had held the Cameroonians at bay in Douala and Abuja, was most likely the target of the move.

Nevertheless, the endeavor was thwarted, and it’s possible that the charm’s effectiveness was diminished when Nnadozie stopped the Lionesses from surpassing her objective.

During a press conference following the game, Abiodun informed reporters that the visitors’ action was a plan to divert the Falcons’ attention.

However, she claimed that because the Falcons were totally concentrated, it didn’t provide any favorable outcomes for the Cameroonians.

Regardless of what they think, we were able to maintain our focus and kind of regarded it as a distraction in the game.

“We stand and place our trust in God, and we believe in him.” Anything is possible when God is involved.
