After a “verbal agreement,” a Liverpool player emerges as the “top choice” to replace a superstar headed to Real Madrid.

Andy Robertson, a notable player for Scotland and Liverpool, is reportedly Bayern Munich’s “top” target. The massively successful Premier League team has already won the Carabao Cup, and they still have a chance to win the FA Cup, the Europa League, and the Premier League.

But with Jurgen Klopp’s departure in the summer, Liverpool fans will be worried that their top players could go over the upcoming transfer windows.

The contracts of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah expire in 2025, and they are all being connected to other teams. If rumors about Robertson are to be believed, he may also be moving.

This is in response to reports that Bayern Munich is eager to sign him before the 2019–20 season to replace Alphonso Davies, who is heading to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is reportedly “close to closing the signing,” according to Spanish publication Nacional, while on Monday, The Athletic reported that they had “reached a verbal agreement for the Bayern Munich left-back to join in 2024 or 2025.”

Davies “favours” a move to Real Madrid, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who made the confirmation on Tuesday morning.

In the event that Alphonso Davies decides to leave Bayern Munich this summer, Real Madrid is still his preferred next stop. There are now no issues with the contract, salary, or personal terms for the Canadian left-back, who would love to sign with Real Madrid. “The only problem is that Bayern could be setting the asking price,” Romano wrote in his Caught Offside blog.

“Therefore, the asking price and the outcome of Bayern and Davies’ contract negotiations will be crucial.” He hasn’t been in contact with Barcelona as of yet, and he would want to stay in Madrid, if not keep an eye on Premier League teams.
