Rangers: Following the Ibrox demo, Brendan Rodgers speaks in riddles

Keith Jackson claims that after Rangers and Philippe Clement destroyed Hearts, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was left talking in riddles.

On Saturday, February 24, at Ibrox, the Light Blues crushed Steven Naismith’s team 5-0 to preserve their two-point advantage over the Hoops. Celtic earned three points from a regular victory against Motherwell.

Journalist Jackson of the Daily Record acknowledges that Aaron Rodgers is feeling a touch off despite the team’s insistence that a two-point lead is meaningless at this time in the season.

On Monday, February 26, he wrote the following for the Daily Record: “Rangers, on the other hand, smashed five goals past Hearts at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon to cement their place at the top of the table and the emphatic nature of this routing feeds into the narrative that momentum has switched entirely from one side of Glasgow to the other.

Rodgers may have a happy ending up his sleeve, but it’s one of the reasons he was speaking in riddles about stories that had already been written.

“His assessment that there are still 33 points to be played, a two-point lead is not significant is accurate.”

Rangers will be aware that they haven’t yet secured a victory this season, but considering their current standing in relation to the beginning of the campaign, Clement’s team is in a great position to win the Premiership.

The Gers are now riding high at Ibrox, as evidenced by their dominating performance against Hearts on Saturday. Under Clement, the team’s offensive display completely destroyed Naismith’s squad.

The riddles are a sign that Rodgers is unsure of how to handle the Light Blues right now, since he hasn’t had to cope with this level of pressure during either of his stints at Parkhead.

But under the Belgian, the Germans have not slowed down, and there are still rumors circulating about a possible quadruple this season. Rangers are in control, but it remains to be seen if they can pull that off.

In other Rangers news, in a recent Ibrox title verdict under Clement, Chris Sutton destroyed Peter Lawwell.
