Barça Women will play Norwegian team Brann in the Champions League quarterfinals this year. The competition’s final eight were drawn on Tuesday in Nyon, Switzerland. The blaugranes, who won their group, will play the second leg of their tie at home on March 26–27, with the first game taking place in Norway on March 19–20.
Tuesday saw the semi-final draw, meaning that if Jonatan Giráldez’s team advances past Brann, they will play either Chelsea or Ajax for a chance to play in their third consecutive Champions League final. On May 25, the tournament final will take place in San Mamés, Bilbao.
placing them just one point behind Olympique Lyonnais in top position in their group with 13 points. During the group stage, Martin Peter Ho’s team managed to hold the French powerhouses to a tie at home while only giving up seven goals in six games.
In addition to Ajax versus Chelsea, the quarterfinals saw Benfica versus Lyon and Hacken versus PSG emerge from the hat. If Barça advances to the semifinals, the matchups with Chelsea or Ajax will take place on April 27–28 for the second leg and April 20–21 for the first leg.
