The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated Ethiopia 5-1 aggregate to advance to the next round of the Olympic qualifiers
Super Falcons of Nigeria are gearing up for a crucial showdown against Cameroonian’s Indomitable Lionesses in Douala, as they aim to secure a spot in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament for the first time in 16 years,
Led by coach Randy Waldrum, the Nigerian team is determined to break through the barriers that have thwarted their Olympic aspirations in previous years.
Having eliminated Ethiopia in the second round, the Super Falcons are now focused on overcoming the Cameroonian hurdle with a Victory in Cameroon putting them close to the ticket.
The first leg of the encounter will take place at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala, with Ugandan official Shamirah Nabadda officiating the match.
Coach Waldrum has assembled a squad of 21 players, who will all travel to Douala for the crucial match. The team will then return to Abuja for the return leg against the Lionesses at the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
Despite some last-minute arrivals, including attacking midfielder Toni Payne and forward Uchenna Kanu, the squad is confident and prepared for the challenge ahead.
With rigorous training sessions planned both in Abuja and Douala, the Super Falcons are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for Olympic qualification.
